Jordanian Education Initiative

Throughout 2004-5 we project-managed the development of a new ICT curriculum for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as part of the Jordanian Education Initiative. This is a major program backed by the World Economic Forum which seeks to achieve a complete overhaul of the Jordanian curriculum (and subsequently teaching methods and pedagogy) in support of the country’s transformation towards a knowledge-based economy.

We were contracted by Microsoft to oversee the creation of the new ICT curriculum by managing the collective inputs of the Jordanian MoE, a pool of teachers on secondment and a local software company, Menhaj Educational Technologies.

We devised a model whereby ICT skills will be taught through integration into a variety of contexts covering all major traditional subject areas, via a highly engaging simulation-based interface and active learning processes. At our request, the program has been validated by Bristol University, a leader in the field of research into educational technology.
